Physical Therapy for Concussion Care
What is Concussion?
A concussion is a traumatic brain injury that affects your brain function. Effects are usually temporary but can include constant headaches and problems with concentration, memory, balance and coordination. Concussions are usually caused by a blow to the head in a collison sport, car accident, fall, and so on. Violently shaking the head and upper body also can cause concussions.
Hands-on physical therapy for Concussion Care
We use effective hands-on techniques to approach the entire nervous system- both central (in the brain and spinal cord) and peripheral nerous system. When there is a tightness (mechanical restriction) in the nervous system, a light touch approach, such as CranioSacral techniques, is highly effective to balance the entire system. By treating the mechanical imbalance of the nervous system, Dr. Chang goes after the root of the cause and not just placate the symptoms.
